Blinds are no longer just for the inside of your house to stop the neighbours looking in. Blinds are now both internal and external and provide a variety of services to your house. They provide protection from the elements, save you money and add value to your home.

Sydney based Ozsun provide blinds which come in a large range to suit every need and budget. OzSun stock external shade blinds, venetian blinds and roller blinds. All of their blinds are made from the highest quality materials.

“We use premium materials for our blinds which can provide protection from the sun, be translucent or block out the light,” Peter Warner from OzSun explains.

If you would like protection from harmful UV rays it is best to choose a blind with a sunscreen mesh fabric. If you are choosing a blind for privacy then you need to look at a blind with a translucent fabric. A blind made out of this material will provide privacy without blocking the light. But if you need to block out the light and the view, you need to choose a blind made out of block out fabrics.

“Block out blinds are great for bedrooms, especially in the summer months when you are trying to get the children to bed and it is still light outside,” Peter says.

But it is not only the inside of your house, which will benefit from blinds. External blinds keep the sun off the glass and are more effective than internal blinds at reducing heat.

“By installing exterior blinds to your house you can reduce the impact and entry of solar energy by up to 80 percent,” Peter explains.

According to international studies carried out into shading systems when external shading systems are used over interior blinds it is possible to reduce your need for added cooling by about 70 percent.

“This is a significant number. It will not only keep you comfortable during summer but also reduce your expenditure on other cooling devices such as air conditioners and help the environment,” Peter says.

But this does not mean there is not the need for internal blinds. Internal blinds provide extra insulation and if they are not being used in conjunction with external blinds, are perfect for windows not receiving direct sunlight.

“Another thing to remember is that internal blinds are generally not as expensive as external blinds. This is because they do not need to be made of the same heavy duty components to cope with extreme climate conditions,” Peter explains.

Whether you are after a heavy duty external blind to protect you from the elements or you just want your children to get a good night sleep, OzSun have a range of blinds to suit all needs.

All of OzSun’s blinds are made with the highest quality material, combining innovative products with high-tech accuracy and traditional craftsmanship.

“At OzSun it is more than just an installation job. We aim to excel with customer service second to none,” Peter promises.
