Located in Sydney’s Lower north central business district, Cammeray, is an idyllic location as it is nestled amongst the trees, and just a hop skip and a jump to the city and the absolutely stunning Sydney Harbour. This particular project was a more challenging install for Ozsun as we had to engage the use of a large crane to lift the folding arm awnings over the home and onto the customers waterfront balcony. As Ozsun has an extensive 25 year history in project management and project challenges, it was a piece of cake for our experienced team.
The awning type we selected with our client was a compact full cassette folding arm awning that were known for its durability but also for their slimline cassette which could blend seamlessly into the roof line on this Cammeray property. Being of modern appearance, the colour black was chosen for both the powder coating and the awning fabric, which Dickson Orchestra Max – Carbone being the ultimate in stain and water-resistant fabrics.
The awnings take pride of place overlooking Middle Harbour, protecting the clients vast glass sliding doors and mesmerising water views. Offering 100% UV, the client can be assured of ongoing UV protection for their friends and family when they entertain on their balcony, and also know that their internal furniture will endure the brutal Australian sun, whilst being protected by the folding arm awnings on the balcony.
With folding arm awnings, the arms fold horizontally instead of vertically as in other awnings. Folding arm awnings need no posts or vertical supports and therefore the area can remain clear and unobstructed with no intrusive posts. When the awning is retracted the space is free of any structure. This made it the best choice of awning for this particular project at Cammeray as the balcony maintains it’s open-air feel whilst being protected from the harsh sun and weather conditions.
